The rush of devotees at Mahakumbh has led to increasing traffic congestion and rise in accidents.

A car carrying devotees which was returning from Prayagraj on Friday night rammed a stationary truck near Palli village in Dahod's Limkheda, resulting in the deaths of four Gujarati devotees and injuries to eight others. 

A police team which came to know of the accident shifted the injured and deceased to the hospital.

The deceased were said to be from Dholka and Ankleshwar. Meanwhile, eight devotees sustained severe injuries.  

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem. The police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
