Vadodara mayor Keyur Rokadia donate his plasma at SSG blood bank on Sunday to help the patients under treatment for covid in hospitals. He was earlier infected with the virus and recovered. However after a decided frame of time he donate his plasma to help the other patients.

Plasma is being used as an amulet to rescue people who are losing their lives during today's Corona pandemic. However the shortage of donors make it difficult to treat patients and many of them lost their lives.

The recovered patients' immune systems created the antibodies to fight off the virus. These antibodies are present in the plasma, and when this is injected into a patient, the antibodies present in them help fight off the virus. A Plasma donor is eligible to donate after a gap of 14 days even though the plasma taken will be replaced in the body within 2 days. There are no side effects of donating plasma and the entire procedure is carried out by a state-of-the-art machine using a single use disposable kit for every new donor.

Mayor reached the SSG blood bank on Sunday and donate his plasma to help the other patients under treatment. He said this is a alternate treatment for patients as the antibody help them to fight and recover. He appealed everyone who has recovered from corona to come forward and donate their plasma to help others.

Dr. Farzana Kothari incharge of SSG blood bank said, they make a coordination with administration, police department, organisations for plasma donation and everyday around four to five people from police department and others are coming to donate their plasma. Mayor has donated his plasma and put forward a inspiring example before others. She appealed everyone recovered from corona to donate plasma.
