In the Women's Cricket World Cup, England registered their first win in the tournament defeating India by four wickets at Mount Maunganui. Set to score 135 runs for victory in the stipulated 50 overs, England women reached the target in the 32nd over scoring 136 for six. Heather Knight scored an unbeated half-century and Nat Sciver made 45.

Meghna Singh claimed 3 wickets while Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar bagged one wicket each.

Earlier put into bat, India were all out for 134 runs in the 37th over. Opener Smriti Sandhana was the top scorer with 35 while Richa Ghosh contributed 33. Charlie Dean was the most successful bowler claiming four wickets.

India have won their matches against Pakistan and West Indies but they lost to the hosts New Zealand. This is first victory for England in the tournament.
