Global Talent Surge: Indian Students Take Spotlight at NTU
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) marked a major milestone in its international education outreach by hosting large-scale scholarship celebration events at its City Campus in Nottingham, recognising the achievements of 1,596 scholarship recipients from the current academic year, including a notable 524 Indian students. Conducted over two evenings, the events brought together students from the September 2025 and January 2026 intakes, offering them a formal welcome into the NTU community while celebrating their academic excellence.
The initiative comes at a time when global students are increasingly prioritising not only academic rankings but also the overall university experience, sense of belonging, and support systems available from day one. NTU designed the celebrations to go beyond recognition, creating an engaging and inclusive environment where students could connect with faculty members, peers, and the broader academic community. Scholarship recipients were presented with certificates by academics from their respective schools, fostering early academic relationships and encouraging integration into campus life.
The events featured a vibrant mix of food, refreshments, interactive activities, and a live performance by the NTU Pop Choir, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The recognised students were beneficiaries of prestigious merit-based awards such as the NTU Excellence Awards and the India Prestigious University Award across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, highlighting the university’s commitment to rewarding talent and nurturing future leaders.
Senior Regional Manager Anna Audhali emphasised that such initiatives play a crucial role in helping students feel acknowledged and connected at the beginning of their academic journey, particularly praising the strong participation and contribution of Indian students within NTU’s diverse international community. Student testimonials further reflected the emotional significance of the event, with many describing NTU as a “second home” and expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
As international education evolves into a more experience-driven model, NTU’s approach demonstrates how scholarship programmes can serve not only as financial support but also as a foundation for building community, engagement, and belonging among students from across the globe.
With a student base exceeding 36,000 and representation from over 160 countries, NTU continues to strengthen its global reputation for academic excellence, employability, and industry collaboration, positioning itself as a leading destination for international students seeking a holistic and enriching university experience.
