Ankleshwar-Walia Road repair underway, drains to be widened

The long-awaited renovation of the Ankleshwar-Walia connecting road is progressing rapidly, with significant improvements planned to address both road quality and drainage infrastructure.

The Rs 50 crore tender for the 37-kilometer stretch was sanctioned in October, following severe deterioration during the monsoon season.

The repair work was officially initiated under the supervision of MP Mansukh Vasawa.

Along with the resurfacing of the road, an extensive widening of the small and large culverts along the route is also being undertaken to enhance water flow and reduce future road damage caused by flooding.

To facilitate the work, diversions have been implemented at various points on the route. While these measures are essential for the progress of the project, they have led to occasional traffic congestion in affected areas.

Local authorities urge commuters to exercise patience as these improvements aim to provide long-term benefits, ensuring safer and smoother travel between Ankleshwar, Walia, and Netrang.
