Design your own Ganesha and gives a personal touch to the lord in this year's Ganeshotsav. 15 students of multidisciplinary fields start this new and unique concept in Vadodara from this year with an aim to bring back the traditional values and use earthen sustainable materials rather than the dangerous Plaster of Paris.

Around 15 youngsters from Vadodara get together on a platform called Umbaro with an aim to celebrate this year Ganeshotsav in unique way. Rather then selling the idols they invite people to design and prepare their own Ganesha and gives personal touch to the lord. They guide them about moulding, giving shape and decorations and after completion people can take home their own creation free of cost.

"This is first initiative in Ganeshotsav with an aim to bring back the traditional values when lord was prepared by people at home and worship them. Secondly keeping in view the environmental issues we want to push the concept of earthen sustainable and make people purchase or rather prepare their own clay idols. Plaster of Paris idols are dangerous and we hope our small effort will slowly and gradually put stoppage on it, " Said Sampath V. Raja coordinator of the event.

Around 50 participants took part in the two days camp on 8th and 9th September and prepare their own Ganesha with expert help from these students. People use terracotta and clay to make the idols with their hands and give the lord a personal touch.
