During his visit to Vadodara on Saturday, Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel issued a warning to private hospitals for strict action as per new epidemic act if they are unnecessarily admit patients just for bills. He also speaks about formation of inspection teams to check such situation and send their report to the government.

In view of that OSD Dr. Vinod Rao on Sunday formed 10 *Hospital Inspection Teams* comprising of 20 Senior Doctors and Professors from Medical College Baroda (SSG) and GMERS Gotri. A briefing session was also organised attended by Hospital Inspection Team members and SETU representatives.

Dr. Rao informed, the inspection of Private Hospitals have started from Sunday and would enforce the Notification for Admission of COVID Patients and divert others for Home Based COVID Care under Sanjeevani Abhiyan. Those Hospitals who violate the guidelines will face action under the Epidemic Act and Disaster Management Act.

He further added that SETU – Association of Private Hospitals of Vadodara has also appealed to all its members to comply with the Notifications issued and cooperate in collective fight against COVID.
