Apple is gearing up to refresh its MacBook Air lineup. The new laptops, powered by the proprietary M4 chip, could land before this week is out.
New MacBooks are not the only thing we might see from Apple. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPad Air and the entry-level iPad are in short stock at Apple Stores, hinting at a refresh.
The next iPad Air could feature the M3 chipset or — this is unlikely — could even come with an A17 Pro chip.
The entry-level iPad could pack an A16 Bionic, last seen on the non-pro iPhone 15 lineup.
However, the iPads could be released later this month and not this week. Apple last refreshed the iPad lineup in May 2024.
Further, Gurman speculates that Apple could hold off on refreshing the iPad Pro lineup until the M5 chip is ready, which is expected to be later this year.
In May 2024, Apple unveiled the iPad Pro with the M4 chip and support for Apple Pencil Pro and available in two sizes – a 13-inch model and an 11-inch model. Apple also announced a redesigned 11-inch and an all-new 13-inch iPad Air models, powered by the M2 chip.
