Following Dharmendra Pradhan’s exit, Pralhad Joshi has assumed charge of Education Ministry. He has been given this portfolio in addition to his existing portfolio of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

He was born in Bijapur,Karnataka . During 1992-94, he was first noticed in a public with RSS when they organised movement to hoist the flag at Idgah Maidan Hubbali .He joined the RSS at his young age. He also played an important role in “Save Kashmir Movement” His growing popularity within BJP, he was appointed as president of BJP in Dharwad. He first contested and won the election of Loksabha in 2004. Since then he has won five consecutive elections for the Loksabha in 2004,2009,2014,2019,2024 and emerged victorious in all of them which makes him one of the longest serving BJP parliamentarian.
From 2019-2024, he served as minister of parliamentary affairs, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines. Being a parliamentary affairs minister , he coordinated in important legislations such as abrogation of Article 370 and Women’s Reservaton bill.His administrative role in multiple ministry makes him the one of the senior most members in BJP government.
Now, the spotlight is firmly on Pralhad Joshi who inherits twin challenges of addressing NEET controversy while shaping the India’s education system.
