Power Shift in Bihar as NDA Finalises New Government
In a significant political development, Samrat Chaudhary has been chosen as the leader of the BJP legislative party and is set to become the next Chief Minister of Bihar. The decision was finalized ahead of a formal announcement by the NDA following its meeting. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 15 at Lok Bhavan, marking a major leadership transition in the state.
Earlier in the day, outgoing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to the Governor at Raj Bhavan. He was accompanied by Samrat Chaudhary and cabinet minister Vijay Chaudhary during the visit. Following his resignation, Nitish Kumar expressed his support for the incoming government, stating that it would continue good governance and contribute to Bihar’s progress.
The political shift comes after a series of key meetings among NDA leaders. On April 13, senior leaders including Sanjay Jha, Lalan Singh, Jama Khan, and Bijendra Yadav held discussions with Nitish Kumar at the Chief Minister’s residence, indicating the formation of a new government. Jama Khan later confirmed that the swearing-in ceremony would take place on April 15, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to attend the event.
This leadership change signals a new phase in Bihar’s political landscape, with the BJP taking a central role in governance as the state prepares for a fresh administration under Samrat Chaudhary.
