Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hoped that the BRICS summit will enhance
the economic and cultural linkage between the member nations as he arrived in
the Brazilian capital to take part in the two-day meeting.

On the side
lines of 11th BRICS summit, PM Modi will meet Brazilian President
Jair Bolsonaro to discuss ways to enhance the bilateral strategic partnership.
The Prime
Minister is scheduled to hold separate bilateral meeting with Russia President
Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
This will be
the sixth time PM Modi is participating in the BRCIS summit, his first being at
Fortaleza, also in Brazil in 2014
During the summit, the five major economies of the world will aim to strengthen their corporation in science, technology and innovation, PM Modi said in his departure statement. A BRICS memorandum of understanding between trade and investment promotion agencies is expected to be signed.
The participating leaders would also be issued on the occasion of the summit, according to the Ministry of External Affairs
