Punjabi singer Mika Singh has strongly defended his brother and fellow singer Daler Mehndi after a controversy erupted during a cultural event in Uttarakhand. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal interrupted Mehndi’s performance at the Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in Tehri, alleging that the singer was under the influence of alcohol and unable to perform properly.

Mika rejected the allegations and challenged anyone to prove that Daler Mehndi consumes alcohol, stating that he would quit singing if the claim were proven. He also criticised the singer’s public treatment, while other celebrities, including Kapil Sharma and Badshah, expressed support for Mehndi.

The controversy gained attention after videos of the incident went viral on social media. Some industry colleagues said Mehndi had recently undergone surgery, suggesting that his health may have affected his performance. The minister, meanwhile, defended his intervention, citing concerns about the quality of the performance at the event.
