Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and open the completed part of the Kanpur Metro train project in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday, according to his office.

The new 9-kilometer segment runs from IIT-Kanpur to the city's Moti Jheel.

PM Modi would also ride from the IIT Metro station to Geeta Nagar after the inauguration, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The Kanpur Metro Rail Project is 32 kilometers long and costs around Rs 11,000 crore to construct.

All students will get digital degrees at IIT Kanpur's 54th convocation ceremony, thanks to an in-house blockchain-driven technology built by the Institute as part of the National Blockchain Project.

The Prime Minister will announce the launch of blockchain-based digital degrees that are globally verifiable and unforgeable.

PM Modi will then open the Bina-Panki multi-product pipeline project, which spans 356 kilometres. According to the PMO, the project has a capacity of roughly 3.45 million metric tonnes per year.

The PMO stated that it will assist the region in obtaining petroleum products from the Bina refinery.
