Nitish has formed government with the BJP and will likely have two deputy CMs from the party Vijay Sinha and Samrat Choudhary. 

As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier called Nitish to congratulate him. Soon after Nitish Kumar resigned as the chief minister of Bihar, BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde said the NDA government would be formed in the state in alliance with the Janata Dal (United).

Taking a jibe at JD(U) president Nitish Kumar who resigned as the Chief Minister of Bihar, RJD leader Lalu Prasad's daughter Rohini Acharya said the "garbage has gone into the dustbin". 

Earlier, Kumar had submitted his resignation to Guv Rajendra V Arlekar, and said that the 'things were not working out in INDIA bloc.’

Congress President M Mallikarjun Kharge today stated that his party held talks with all alliance partners of INDIA bloc on seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 'We have reached an understanding with some of them, while the dialogue with others is at the final stages,' Kharge said. He said the Congress has already begun preparation for the Lok Sabha elections with the ongoing 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' led by party leader Rahul Gandhi and his visit to various places across the country.
