Vadodara rural local crime branch caught Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth around 8 lakhs hidden in between chairs inside a container. Police arrested two and seized items worth 16.63 lakhs including liquor bottles, container, chairs and mobile phones.
As part of maintaining law and order situation in view of the upcoming Panchayat elections, police is running a special drive in Vadodara district to find out prohibition cases. As part of it Vadodara LCB team was on patrolling during evening time of Monday at Waghodia police station area. Meanwhile they received a tip about one Tata 909 container no. HR 84 5256 carrying IMFL and heading towards Vadodara through Halol road.
Based on that the team intercept the container on the opposite road in front of Decent hotel on Halol Vadodara road and found two persons identified themselves as Ravindra Jat and Lalaram Meena from Rajasthan. The team checked the container and found 8016 bottles worth 8,01,600 hidden inside in between the chairs. During primary interrogation police found the IMFL was loaded by one Nirav Sharma from Haryana.
The team seized items worth 16.63 lakhs including liquor bottles, container, 35 chairs, mobile phones and speeding up to arrest the remaining accused after registered the case.
