The announcement was made by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), a global diamond certification organisation.

"We have manufactured the biggest polished LGD in the world. Earlier China manufactured 16 carat diamond and we broke the record," said Smit Patel, a partner in Surat's Greenlab Diamonds.

IGI graded three LGDs of 27.27 carat, 20.24 carat and 15.16 carat grown by the company.

The manufacturer who claims the LGDs as green diamond as it has been produced using solar energy has named the other two stones as 'Namah', pear rose cut and 'Shivay', emerald cut.
