Minister of State for Sports Ishwarsinh Patel inaugurated two sports complexes of Parul University near Vadodara city and interacted with the students and athletes.

On this occasion, sports minister said that sports and yoga have been playing an important role in the Indian education system since ancient times. The then Chief Minister of the state Narendra Modi has changed the flow of the sports sector of the state by launching Khel Mahakumbh in the year 2010. As a result of Khel Maha Kumbh and the state government's incentive schemes for sportspersons, Gujarat's players are performing at the national and international level. For the first time in the history of Gujarat, six girls of the state have qualified for the Olympics. In which three will represent the country in Olympics and 3 in Paralympics. Thus, following the sports promotion policy of the state government, Gujarat has also made strides in the field of sports.

Savita Gaekwad, who hails from a remote area like Dang in the state, has achieved fame by winning a gold medal in the Asian Games. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also rewarded her with Rs. One crore has been rewarded. Honouring her on the occasion of the 67th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rs. 67 lakh prize money was given to her. Besides, the state government has also given job to her as DySP class-1. The state government has also implemented Shaktidoot Yojana to provide international level facilities and training to the sportspersons of the state. Through which many players have made their mark in the field of sports.

Interacting with the students-athletes, Minister Ishwar Singh Patel said that he was interested in doing service work from his childhood. He was fortunate enough to become the chairman of a co-operative sugar factory in our area at the age of just 27 and at that time, the factory was running at a loss of Rs 40 crore. They repaid all the debts of this factory so that the farmers could move forward and move towards economic prosperity. At the same time, the Minister urged the students to set goals and move forward in any field, strive for success with dedicated value and continue to move forward without stopping even after an achievement.
