The Gujarat government has appointed seven new members to the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) in a move aimed at strengthening the commission and speeding up recruitment through competitive examinations. The appointments were announced by the General Administration Department (GAD). The new members are K.L. Bachani, K.C. Sampat, K.S. Vasava, Mayur Mehta, H.J. Prajapati, Dipakkumar Rathod and Shishir Trivedi.
The appointments come amid concerns over delays in government recruitment and pending selection processes. The new members are expected to help the GPSC handle examinations, interviews and recruitment-related work more efficiently. Hasmukh Patel, a retired IPS officer, is serving as the GPSC chairman.
