The investigation has led to the arrest of the victims' own son-in-law, who orchestrated the brutal killings for financial gain.

The Crime Unfolds

On the night of March 5, residents of Ganesh Garden Society in Valiya, Bharuch, were left stunned when the bodies of Jitendrasinh Boradara and his wife Lataben Bodadara were discovered in a pool of blood. The couple, both teachers, had not been seen the entire day, raising suspicions among neighbors, who eventually alerted the police.

A joint investigation was launched by the Bharuch Crime Branch and the Special Operation Group (SOG). Within days, the police cracked the case, arresting Vivek Rajendrakumar Dubey, the victims' son-in-law, residing in Dream Home, Vyara, Tapi district.

Motive Behind the Murders

During police interrogation, Vivek Dubey confessed to the crime, revealing a shocking motive. Struggling with a debt of ₹30-35 lakh, accumulated from bank loans, high-interest borrowings, and share market investments, he conspired to rob and murder his financially stable in-laws.

Dubey, who is also a teacher, knew that his father-in-law not only had substantial savings but also lent money on interest and kept a large amount of cash and jewelry at home. Using this knowledge, he carefully planned the crime.

Execution of the Crime

Vivek Dubey traveled from Gandhinagar to Valiya in a car.

He forcefully entered his in-laws' house, looted gold and silver jewelry and cash, and murdered both victims in cold blood before fleeing the scene at night.

In an attempt to mislead the investigation, he returned the next day and pretended to assist the police.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The police's swift and thorough investigation led them to Dubey, whose behavior and financial struggles raised suspicion. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

Authorities have recovered ₹43,000 in cash along with gold and silver jewelry from the accused. Further investigations are underway to uncover more details related to his financial dealings and whether anyone else was involved in the conspiracy.

Conclusion

This gruesome crime, committed by a trusted family member, has shocked the community. The case highlights the devastating impact of financial distress leading to extreme actions. The Bharuch police's quick resolution of the case has provided some relief to the grieving family and residents of the area.
