For the first time after January 21, no Covid-19 deaths were reported in the city and district on Thursday.
The number of new cases were also much lower despite higher testing.
Both the city and the district reported new Covid-19 cases in single digits. Seven cases were reported from Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) areas while six others were reported from areas of the district outside VMC limits. During the third wave, the first death was reported on January 16.
Two more deaths were confirmed on January 21 and since then not a single day had passed without a death being reported till Thursday when no deaths were reported and the total number of deaths remained at 756.
The number of serious patients also dropped significantly with only four remaining on ventilators or BIPAP machines.
Officials believe that given the lower number of serious cases, there were fewer chances of more deaths.
After the discharge of 38 more persons, 145 active cases remained in the city and district. the active cases include 64 in hospitals and 81 in home isolation.
Eight patients were in ICUs without ventilators and 14 others needed oxygen support.
