Mines and Minerals team strikes during unauthorized mining of plain sand
seizes items worth Rs 50 lakh
On the instructions of Vadodara District Collector, the Minerals Branch of the Collectorate is closely monitoring the unauthorized mining and to catch the miners and transporters in order to prevent any loss to the exchequer.
Meanwhile, at midnight on the second of October, a team from the Minerals Branch Strike at Gulabpura village in Desar taluka and stopped unauthorized mining and transportation of plain sand minerals. The team also seized items worth about Rs 20 lakh.
According to District Geologist Neeraj Barot, a total of 9 trucks including two loaded with sand and seven empty along with 1 loader machine. All of them have been kept at Desar police station. He said the value would be recovered by assessing how many minerals the culprits have transported through unauthorized mining.
