The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Ahmedabad today sentenced Kishanram Hiralal Sonkar, then Manager, F&A, ONGC, Ankleshwar Asset to 3 years of Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 25 Lakh in a  case related to possession of Disproportionate Assets.

CBI had registered the instant case on 29.06.2006  against  accused Kishanram Hiralal Sonkar, on the allegations that the accused during the period 01.10.2002 to 21.06.2006, had apmle amount of assets disproportionate to his known source of income to the tune of Rs. 14,11,310/- which was 84% in excess to his known source of income.

After completion of investigation, charge-sheet was filed by CBI on 24.01.2008 against then manager,  for amassing assets to the tune of Rs. 22,15,609/- disproportionate to his known source of income, during the check period 01.01.2000 to 01.07.2006 which is 62% in excess to his known source of income.

The Court, after trial, found the accused guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
