Vadodara Police has to intervene after there was a chaos in distribution of forms for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna in Vadodara on Wednesday. The team caught a man suspected of distributing tokens which lead to the chaos outside the office of Affordable Housing Scheme at Raopura.
Beneficiaries are making a beeline for getting the forms for 2132 affordable houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for Harni, Gotri, Subhanpura and Kalai areas of Vadodara city. For the last two days, long queues of beneficiaries have been seen outside Vadodara Corporation's Affordable Housing Scheme office at Raopura to get forms leading to traffic jams on the road. Due to heavy rush police is stationed there to control the situation. Following this it has been decided to distribute the forms till December 31.
Meanwhile on Wednesday there was a chaos over authorities started new line and over a private person alloted tokens to the beneficiaries. There was a big chaos as people tried to forcefully entered the office and many of them specially women fell down on ground. Police reached the spot and control the situation which seems to be went out of hands. They caught the youth who said in his defense that the token issuing officer was going form some work, and he was giving the token by entering names in the register and he himself have come to get the token.
However deputy engineer Nilesh Parmar said, the youth is not from the department and he is doing it by himself. Due to heavy rush they forced to call the police and control the situation. The token system was started after the police arrived although some beneficiaries have expressed outrage against the system.
