The Bharuch Bar Association has made a significant and unprecedented decision regarding the heinous Chakchari rape case.
Following the brutal assault on a 10-year-old girl, the association declared that no lawyer would represent the accused in court.
The incident involved extreme cruelty, where the accused not only raped the minor but also inflicted severe injuries, including stabbing her in her genital area.
The victim is currently undergoing critical treatment at Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara.
Pradyumansinh Sindha, the President of the Bharuch Bar Association, stated that given the shocking depravity of the crime, the association unanimously decided that no member would defend the accused.
This stance reflects the collective outrage and moral responsibility felt by the legal community in Bharuch.
Meanwhile, the Bharuch police have launched a thorough investigation under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Kushal Energia. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to expedite the collection of evidence and ensure justice is served promptly.
This decision by the Bar Association underscores the seriousness of the crime and the commitment to stand in solidarity with the victim and her family.
