Over 85,000 students in Gujarat are scheduled to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET 2025 on Sunday. It  began at 2 pm and will continue till 5 pm.

The reporting time for students is between 11 am and 1.30 pm. As per the exam guidelines, students are prohibited from wearing earrings, bangles, necklaces, anklets, nose rings, hair clips, anklets, and high-heeled sandals.

This medical entrance test will be conducted in 566 cities across India and 14 cities abroad, including two cities outside India. In Gujarat, the exam will be held in 29 districts across 31 cities at 214 centres.

A total of 85,279 students have been registered to appear for NEET this year. In Ahmedabad, a total of 24 exam centres including Gujarat University will welcome students who are appearing for NEET.

The NEET exam language options include English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu.

It will consist of questions carrying 180 marks in Physics, 180 marks in Chemistry, and 360 marks in Biology, making a total of 720 marks.

The exam, which lasts for three hours, will have 180 questions in total. Each correct answer will earn four marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one mark.

Last year, more than 24 lakh students registered for the exam, whereas this year, the number has decreased by around 1 lakh students.

Last year, there were numerous complaints of malpractice and cheating at several centres, including Godhra in Gujarat and some centres in Bihar, which led to significant controversy.

As a result, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had to cancel some of the results. This year, most private school centres have been cancelled, and the exam will be conducted mainly at government institutions.
