The Navratri festivities brought sheer delight to car and two-wheeler dealerships across Gujarat.
After a dull business period in Sep, dealers were optimistic as the Navratri-Dussehra festive season saw a good number of bookings and deliveries.
According to estimates by the Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA) Gujarat, approximately 44,000 vehicles mainly cars and two-wheelers were delivered on Dussehra day alone across the state. Of these, 7,400 units drove out of showrooms in Ahmedabad alone.
Good demand from rural India, driven by higher agricultural incomes in addition to a slew of offers and discounts provided by dealers, led to a substantial increase in demand for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
About 90,000 two-wheelers and 21,000 four-wheelers drove out of the state's vehicle dealerships over the 10-day period since the first day of Navratri. Two-wheeler sales grew by 8-10% compared to last year's Dussehra, whereas car sales increased by 6-8%.
