The cowshed of Vadodara Open Jail has a capacity of 120 cows and has been given 90 acres of land. The inmates can work in this cowshed for milk production and animal husbandry and get a new opportunity for their livelihood by organic farming in the farmland. Through this open prison they will be connected with the society.

Chief Guest Additional Director General of Police Dr. KLN Rao said, “The open jail will inspire the inmates to do social work. They will be given skill development oriented training. It will enable them to work at petrol pumps regardless of their behavior with cowsheds and farms. Just like as masks, soaps, hand washes, sanitizers were made and distributed to the people during the Corona period by the Vadodara Central Jail, the prisoners will do social work through this open jail.”

Welcoming the gathering, Superintendent of Vadodara Central Jail Balwant Singh Vaghela hoped that the open jail and gaushala would be a model of prisoner welfare and reform in the country.
