Every year NCC Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of the month of November, which falls on 28th November this year. As part of the celebrations, Flag hoisting and parades were carried out in all the five Group Headquarters and 43 units under NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra Nagar & Haveli and Daman & Diu.

Messages of greetings and appreciation received from the Governor, Chief Minister and Education Minister of Gujarat were read out to the cadets. Major General Arvind Kapoor, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu extended his greetings and felicitations to all officers, ANOs, GCIs, PI staff, Civilian staff and cadets on the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of National Cadet Corps.

Major General Arvind Kapoor stated that the last year has thrown up new and unforeseen challenges for NCC and we are very proud that due to the hard work and dedication of the staff and cadets, the Directorate has once again risen to the occasion and come out with flying colours. It was ensured that the training of cadets does not get affected and the training has been seamlessly transferred to online mode. It was also ensured that all affected cadets undergo the applicable camps with full Covid protocols.

Besides the institutional training, the cadets of the Directorate also actively took part in their social service in Community Development commitments towards their fellow being. The NCC cadets actively remained deployed in Exercise NCC Yogdan for 115 continuous days in support of the district administration and also as part of #EkMaiSauKeLiye campaign actively connected with the people through various digital platforms and assisted them in overcoming the challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic. The cadets also actively participated in other social activities such as Blood Donation, Swachhta Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyaan, Tree plantation. The efforts of the cadets have been applauded by one and all.

Efforts are also underway so as to ensure that state of art training infrastructure is available for training of the cadets. Air Simulators, Firing Simulators, Naval Simulators and latest sports Shooting Rifles have been procured towards the same. Construction of NCC academies at Rajkot and Navli is also under full swing.

The Directorates shared vision with the State Government aims at empowering the youth with essential life skills with due attention to Tribal youth, cadets from remote areas and especially girls, for meaningful contribution to the nation building. The implementation of NCC as elective subject is a giant step towards the same. The Directorate also ensured maximum coverage of NCC in the border and coastal areas as per the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister.

Major General Arvind Kapoor expressed his most sincere gratitude to the Hon'ble Governor and Chief Minister as well as the Hon'ble Education Minister who have provided their whole hearted support for all NCC activities in the State and also all the positive support provided by the Vice Chancellors and Principals of educational institutions.

He expressed his immense satisfaction on seeing the progress and achievements of the cadets in training and numerous sports, adventure, professional, cultural as well as societal development activities and further assured that all efforts will be made by the staff and cadets of the Directorate so as to ensure that NCC continues to achieve greater excellence in all spheres in future also.
