The court ruled in favor of Gaurav Bhatia alias Sandeep Bishnoi and Waspi Mehmud Khan alias Wasim Chikna, citing a lack of substantial evidence.

The case revolves around an alleged conspiracy reportedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The accused were initially arrested for allegedly conducting reconnaissance near Khan’s Panvel farmhouse, Bandra residence, and various film locations in 2024.

Justice N R Borkar granted bail to the two accused on February 6, 2025, after reviewing the available evidence.

The court found that aside from their presence in a WhatsApp group where the alleged plot was discussed, there was no concrete proof linking them directly to the assassination attempt.

The defense argued that the allegations against the two men were exaggerated and meant to garner media attention.

Their legal representatives also highlighted that another accused, Deepak Gogoi, had been granted bail by the sessions court in 2024. Additionally, they claimed that neither Vaspi nor Gaurav had direct links to the Bishnoi gang or any role in the murder plot.
