Popular Mollywood director Siddique passed away on Tuesday at a private hospital in Kerala's Kochi. He was 63.

Siddique was undergoing treatment for liver disease for the past few days.

The funeral will be held at Ernakulam Central Juma Masjid at 6 pm on Wednesday.

Born in 1960 as the son of Ismayil Rawther and Sainaba of ‘Sainabas’ at Kaloor in Ernakulam, Siddique made his directorial debut in 1989 with the superhit Malayalam movie ‘Ramji Rao Speaking’.

The director duo of Siddique and Lal had come out with several popular movies before they decided to part ways.

Apart from directing several movies, Siddique also worked as a screenwriter, actor, and producer.

Although he parted ways with Lal, he continued to direct movies, including in Tamil and Hindi.

Some of his major works include 'Ramji Rao Speaking', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'God Father', 'Vietnam Colony,' 'Kabuliwalah', 'Hitler', 'Friends', 'Chronic Bachelor', 'Bodyguard' (Malayalam and Hindi), 'Kavalan' (Tamil).
