The action-packed futuristic thriller Ganapath was released on Friday, opening to a disappointing Rs 2.5 crore at the box office.
Despite the festive period, the Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon-starrer’s commercial performance has fallen short of even low expectations.
On Saturday, the film collected Rs 2.25 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, bringing its two-day collections to Rs 4.75 crore.
Ganapath – A Hero Is Born had an overall 10.19 percent occupancy in the Hindi-speaking market.
While night shows saw a poor 11.97 percent occupancy, the rest of the day was even worse.
In Ganapath, which was initially announced as a franchise-starter, Tiger’s character Guddu transforms into the titular mercenary, who takes on a dangerous crime syndicate led by Dalini.
Ganapath was released a day after Vijay’s Leo, which has taken the box office by storm.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial minted more than Rs 140 crore worldwide on the opening day.
2 also clashed with Ganpath, and could only manage to collect Rs 60 lakh on the opening day.
