Mohan Delkar, a seven-time MP from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, has been found dead at a hotel in Mumbai’s Marine Drive, Maharashtra. It is suspected that Mohan Delkar committed suicide at the Marine Drive hotel on Monday. His body has been sent for postmortem.
Police have reached the hotel where Mohan Delkar allegedly committed suicide. An investigation has been initiated in the case.
Mohan Delkar was an Independent Member of Parliament. Mohan Delkar had left the Congress ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Last year, Mohan Delkar had tied up with the JDU for the local election in Dadra and Nagar Haveli after a meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. His support to the JDU resulted in a loss of seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP0 in the local polls in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
