Rajasthan Weather Alert: Rain, Hail & Dust Storms | Heat Triggers Scooter Fire in Kota
Rajasthan witnessed a sudden change in weather due to an active Western Disturbance, bringing rain, hail, and dust storm alerts across 15 districts.
Light showers and gusty winds were reported in Jaipur, while Dausa experienced hailstones, and Alwar saw intermittent rainfall since morning. The shift in weather led to a drop of up to 5°C in several regions, including Jaisalmer and Nagaur, offering temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave.
However, extreme temperatures continued to pose risks, as a scooter caught fire in Kota due to intense heat. Phalodi recorded the highest temperature in the last 24 hours.
The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for strong sunshine, afternoon dust storms, and light rain in parts of the state over the next few days. While some regions may see slight temperature drops, heatwave conditions are expected to persist in southwestern Rajasthan, especially in early May, alongside ongoing thunderstorms and wind activity.
