India clinched gold in the women’s 4x400m relay at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, securing the country’s first athletics gold of the Games.
The Indian quartet of Kiran, Poovamma Machettira, Prachi Chaudhary and Vithya Ramraj clocked 3:29.69 to finish on top. Their victory added another major medal to India’s athletics campaign at the Games.
The result is particularly significant as India had already won a silver in the mixed 4x400m relay earlier in the competition.
