With a 71 percent approval rating, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most popular leader in the world. According to a poll conducted by Morning Consult Political Intelligence, Prime Minister Modi has surpassed world leaders such as Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of Mexico (66 percent), Mario Draghi of Italy (60 percent), Fumio Kishida of Japan (48 percent), Olaf Scholz of Germany (44 percent), Justin Trudeau of Canada (43 percent), Joe Biden of the United States (43 percent), Scott Morrison of Australia (41 percent), and Pedro Sanchez of Spain (41 percent (40 percent).
Moon Jae-in of South Korea (38 percent), Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil (37 percent), Emmanuel Macron of France (34 percent), and Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom (34 percent) are the leaders with the lowest public approval ratings (26 percent). The business also published disapproval ratings for world leaders, with Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom taking the top rank.
With a disapproval rating of 69 percent, Boris Johnson is the most unpopular leader in the world, followed by Macron (59 percent), Bolsonaro (56 percent), Moon (54 percent), Sanches (53 percent), Morrison (52 percent), Trudeau (51 percent), and Biden (51 percent) (49 percent).
Scholz (40 percent), Kishida (36 percent), Draghi (33 percent), Lopez Obrador (26 percent), and Modi (21 percent) were among the leaders with the lowest disapproval ratings.
"The latest approval ratings are based on data collected from January 13-19, 2022. Approval ratings are based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with sample sizes varying by country," as per Morning Consult Political Intelligence.
