With the arrival of mangoes in the market, the VMSS health department is strictly keeping an eye on the people health to check any malpractice undertaken by the sellers.

Due to the summer season as well as the current epidemic of Covid-19, the team conduct surprise checking in mango shops and godowns in the Khanderao market area to check about using carbide powder to ripe the mangoes. During checking the team found carbide powder packets inside the boxes and destroyed around 160 kg of uneatable fruits.

Food Safety Officers formed 2 different teams and raided the mango traders in Khanderao Market area of ​​the city from May 10 to 11 and carried out intensive checking. They destroyed 160 kg of inedible fruits including mangoes, citrus, pomegranates, papayas and chickpeas. In addition, traders have been instructed to maintain cleanliness and strictly follow the rules of Covid-19.
