Additionally, Rs 245 crore has been earmarked for scholarships for the 2024-25 fiscal, said the Punjab minister for social justice, empowerment and minorities.
The Karnataka cabinet on Friday decided to spend Rs 2,500 crore to upgrade the government higher education institutions, for which it will borrow Rs 1,750 crore.
This decision will lead to the creation of 5,388 regular posts. There are 1256 functional KVs, including three abroad in Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran. A total of 13.56 lakh students are studying in these KVs.
On Tuesday, Kannur and Kasaragod districts will have an orange alert, and Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts will have a yellow warning.
Among the posts are 1,099 posts for undergraduate teachers and 467 for graduate teachers in different schools across the state, the state Cabinet has decided.
