Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur: 1000 Khelo India centres across country will be dedicated to nation in next 3 months

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Anurag Singh Thakur participated in the private sports event in Lucknow today.

Union Minister announced that 1000 Khelo India centres across the country will be dedicated to the nation in the next three months.

Sources reports, during his address, Union Sports Minister said that the Khelo India campaign, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has provided the biggest platform for identifying talented players in the country.

He emphasised that the campaign’s objective is not only to enhance sports infrastructure but also to nurture and support talented athletes.

Events like Khelo India Youth Games, Khelo India University Games, and Khelo India Winter Games have provided platforms to more than 15000 players.

The Union Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Women's participation in sports has increased.

Mirabai Chanu and PV Sindhu have inspired girls and women of the country to do better in the field of sports, he added.

Appreciating the Yogi government Union Minister said that the Sansad Khel competition in the State has given a platform to the district-level players.

Union Minister appreciated the Uttar Pradesh government for successfully organising the biggest Khelo India University Games and the positive development of sports facilities and sports culture in the State.

He remarked that Uttar Pradesh was the only State in the country that invited all the medal winners of the Tokyo Olympics and honoured them with cash prizes.
