The T20 World Cup Group D match between Nepal and Sri Lanka has been called off due to bad weather in Florida.
Heavy rain and flood warnings in Lauderhill, Florida, led tournament officials to cancel the game without a ball being bowled.
With the match being washed out, Sri Lanka’s hopes of progressing to the Super Eight stage are almost over, and Nepal’s chances of qualification have also been impacted, as both teams are still seeking their first win of the tournament.
South Africa, currently leading Group D, has secured a place in the Super Eight. On the other hand, South Africa which is currently Group D toppers, confirmed a place in the Super Eight.
Sri Lanka will face the Netherlands in their last group game on 17 June while Nepal will focus on their must-win fixture against South Africa on June.
