There are 311 polling stations for the Karjan assembly seat. One Presiding Officer and 2 Polling Officers have been appointed per polling station to conduct the polling process strictly following the procedure laid down by the Election Commission. Various batches are being formed by the Returning Officer of the constituency and the Province Officer to train them to conduct the polling in accordance with the prescribed precautions, especially regarding the management of the polling station. Covid vigilance training is given during a special half hour session.

Deputy District Election Officer R.M.  Joshi said,  in the context of the Covid pandemic, how to set up voting machines, how to use gloves, to maintain a safe distance between voters, to give each voter a hand glove and to ensure that they cast their votes by wearing it, one by one at the entrance of the polling station. The training covers all matters such as guiding every voter with staff, not entering the polling station without a mask, safe disposal of gloves used by the voter for voting.

In addition to this, in connection with the management of polling, go to the allotted polling station, set up a polling station and booth, prepare voting machines on polling day, conduct mock polls, start polling, use various statutory papers, cover, complete voter registration. The training covers issues like giving tokens to the voters standing in line at the scheduled time, removing the battery of EVM at the end of polling, sealing the machines, sealing all the equipment and depositing it at the receiving center.

It is accompanied by a detailed understanding of the precautions to be taken at the polling booths for neutral, fearless, judicial, transparent elections.
