15 RPF personnel of WR got DG Insignia

Western Railway’s Railway Protection Force celebrated its 36th Raising Day on 20th September, 2020 and planned a week – long series of several programmes. On this occasion, Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway conveyed his best wishes to the entire RPF fraternity and whole heartedly appreciated them for their extraordinary, unparalleled and exemplary services during covid pandemic. He stated that RPF has displayed courage & Passion not only in their duties, but also has maintained a humane gesture towards our passengers.

According to a press release issued by WR CPRO Sumit Thakur, Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal also extended his wishes to the Railway Protection Force on its 36th Raising day and saluted the RPF for its meritorious service and bravery. Thakur stated that several RPF personnel of Western Railway have shown acts of bravery and valour during the course of their duty. They have gone out of their call of duty, to help the needy as well as even risked their lives to save & help people in difficult situations. Their contribution during the nationwide lockdown especially for distribution of food & water to the underprivileged is worth appreciating.

Thakur informed that Shivcharan Singh Gurjar posted at Mahesana RPF Post over Ahmedabad division is the recipient of the prestigious President’s “Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak” for his exemplary act of courage & bravery. Singh rescued nine persons stranded in flood waters that affected Gujarat in 2019 by putting his own life in danger. Another 15 RPF personnel of Western Railway, namely: Devansh Shukla – Security Commissioner, Pawan Kumar Shrivastava – Security Commissioner, Ghanshyam Pandey – Sub Inspector, Bahadur Singh – Asstt. Sub Inspector, Ashok Kumar – Head Constable, Naveen Kumar – Constable, Sandeep Kumar – Constable, Sanjeev Kumar – Constable, Dinesh Kumar Goswami – Constable, Ram Prakash Meena – Sub-Inspector Driver, Saiyyad Liyakat Ali – Asstt. Sub-Inspector Driver Gr. I, Tikam Singh – Sub Inspector, Kaushal Kishor Shukla – Sub Inspector, Dhanjay Babi Dagare – Asstt. Sub-Inspector Driver, Om Prakash Pandey – Sub Inspector Armourer have been awarded with Director General Railway Protection Force Insignia for the year 2019. This prestigious award has been given for their exemplary performance and committed service in prevention and detection of crime in Railway premises and also helping the Rail passengers during the journey.
