Police caught the murder accused fled from mental hospital in Vadodara

Police caught the double murder accused in quick time after he fled from the Karelibaug mental hospital in Vadodara. He was under treatment as per the court order and escaped on pretext of going to washroom.

The accused Jayanti Nayak was living with his uncle and aunt and not doing any work. They asked him about not doing anything and he killed both of them with a sharp edge weapon. An offence was registered in Shehra police station and the accused was arrested and kept at Godhra sub-jail in Panchmahal. A charge sheet was filed in the court but it was found that the mental condition of the accused is not good, and the Court has ordered to keep the accused under treatment at Karelibaug Mental Hospital.

The accused, who was undergoing treatment on a daily basis at the hospital and on 24th May pushed the police guard under the pretext of going to washroom and fled from there. An offense has been registered against the accused in Karelibaug police station and the police launched a manhunt to caught the accused.

Under the instruction and guidance received from the superiors to apprehend the accused, the police staff and police guards of the Godhra headquarters formed different teams and caught the accused from near Release restaurant at Halol road. He was sent to mental hospital for treatment and further investigation is on in the matter.
