India Didn’t Stop, India Chose To Stop”: Rajnath Singh’s Sharp Strike Doctrine
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a strong message regarding India’s military stance, asserting that Operation Sindoor was halted voluntarily and not due to any limitation in capability. Addressing the ANI National Security Summit 2.0, Singh emphasized that India remains fully prepared for a prolonged war if circumstances demand.
He described Pakistan as the “epicentre of international terrorism” and stressed that terrorism must be tackled across its operational, ideological, and political dimensions. According to Singh, the ideological and political support systems behind terrorism are its real strength and must be dismantled completely.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, launched in May 2025 after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Singh called it a turning point in India’s defence strategy. The operation involved precise strikes on nine major terror launchpads linked to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Over 100 terrorists were reportedly neutralized.
Pakistan responded with drone attacks and cross-border shelling, triggering a brief four-day conflict. India retaliated strongly, targeting key radar installations in Lahore and nearby regions. Following heavy losses, Pakistan sought a ceasefire through military channels on May 10.
Singh also dismissed Pakistan’s nuclear threats as a “bluff” and highlighted India’s growing military-industrial strength, stating that the country has the ability to rapidly scale its defence capabilities in times of need. He reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
