With the aim of training and orientating students, Centre for Career Counselling, Training and Placement under the aegis of Office of the Career Advancement for Students, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda organized Online One Day Capacity Building Program for Students on ‘Grassroot Innovation-Social Entrepreneurship’ on Monday.

This was the third program in line of the initiative launched by Vice-Chancellor Professor Parimal H. Vyas to provide students with year-round and continuous career counselling, training and placement opportunities. Chetan Patel, Social Entrepreneurs and National Coordinator of NGOs like SRISTI and SODHYATRA were invited as an expert speaker. More than 1900 students registered and joined through ZOOM and Facebook broadcast.

The program focused on the need to adapt the 360 Degree analytical approach in identifying social problems and providing solutions through Social Grasseoot innovation and how Entrepreneurship skills can be utilized to prepare students for the better tomorrow. Chetan Patel stressed the point that innovation should be a continuous process inspiring by the everyday need of the immediate environment. He opined that there should be a seamless blend of Culture, Technology, and Education for better innovative practices. He provided students motivation and unique ideas through practical innovations which arise out of the day to day life.

The presentation was followed by a Question and Answer Session. Students actively participated in the session and express their interest to enrol in the 50 hours Internship Program offered by the NGOs SRISTI and SODHYATRA.
