Russian President Vladimir Putin suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening, according to media reports citing a Telegram channel ‘General SVR’ - which is reportedly run by a former Kremlin insider.

According to the statement by the sources, Putin's security officers found him lying on his bedroom floor at around 9 pm, alongside an overturned table with food and drinks.

It also alleged that the Russian President was immediately moved to a specially equipped room in his residence where doctors performed resuscitation on him before taking him to a special intensive care facility located within his official residence.

While the claims of Putin's worsened health were not confirmed by the Kremlin, reports suggest that it has alarmed the President's inner circle.

The channel - which cannot be verified - also claimed that all the recent appearances by Putin have been carried out by a body double.

Ever since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year, there have been several reports of Putin's worsening health - be it cancer, or Parkinson's disease. However, the Kremlin has repeatedly said that the Russian leader is in “good health”.
