As part of this mission, NASA’s has organised Lunar Rover Payload Competition worldwide to get suggestions and designs. In this competition, 132 competitors from 29 countries of the world prepared designs and sent suggestions.

One of them was a youth Bhardwaj Deepakbhai Shastri from Khambhat in Anand district of Gujarat participated in this competition.Bhardwaj Shastri had a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bardoli.  As he was interested in space and universe and wants to pursue career, he decided to pursue higher education and went to Germany to study two-year master’s degree in Space Technology. During this study he stayed in Sweden for one year and participated in all the competitions related to space and also got success in it.

NASA organized a world-class Lunar Rover playload competition to design a human habitation in which I participated at home in Khambhat for four consecutive months and created a documentary and housing design with software including design called
    lunar surface Energetic Neutrals Analyzer.

Bhardwaj expressed confidence that his design of the human settlement would be included in the mission to send it to the moon. The device, named LEA, would be used to find out which location would be suitable for human settlement on the moon.
