Jaipur Horror: Molestation Case Unmasks Gun Syndicate
In a shocking development that has raised serious concerns over law enforcement lapses, Jaipur Police have uncovered that Rahul Ghuraiya alias Raj, the man accused of molesting a pregnant woman in the Malviya Nagar Sector-9 area, is allegedly part of a larger illegal arms trafficking network with international links.
The accused, a habitual offender from Madhya Pradesh with over 17 criminal cases registered against him, had been living in Jaipur for nearly two and a half years, operating under the radar while working at a spa centre allegedly used as a front for his illicit activities.
According to DCP East Ranjita Sharma, investigations revealed that Rahul was in active contact with criminal elements in Sanganer and Pratapnagar and had been supplying illegal firearms to them. More alarmingly, he was attempting to procure sophisticated weapons such as an AK-47 through contacts on a Pakistani website, indicating possible cross-border connections.
The case initially surfaced when the victim filed a complaint at Jawahar Circle police station, but alleged police negligence delayed action until a viral video of the molestation forced authorities to act swiftly. During the crackdown, the accused surrendered before a Morena court and was later brought to Jaipur on a production warrant.
Subsequent raids led to the recovery of illegal pistols, including a country-made firearm seized from his associate known as “Chhota Raj.” Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Shubham Agarwal alias Siddharth from Niwai and Babulal Barala from Peeplu, both of whom allegedly sheltered Rahul and were involved in operating spa centres linked to the racket.
Authorities also admitted that mandatory tenant and police verification processes were not followed, allowing the accused to evade scrutiny for years. Police are now expanding the probe to identify the full extent of the network, including potential buyers of the illegal weapons and other accomplices involved in the interstate and possible international arms supply chain.
