On Saturday at 12:30 p.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the tenth payment of cash benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) initiative via video conference (January 1, 2022). Narendra Singh Tomar, the Union Agriculture Minister, will also be present.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), this is in accordance with the government's ongoing commitment and determination to empower small-scale farmers.
According to the announcement, this will allow for the payment of more than Rs 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farming families.
According to the PMO, the PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible beneficiary farming families with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year, payable in three equal four-monthly instalments of Rs 2,000 each.
The PM-KISAN scheme funds are transferred straight to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. So date, about Rs 1.6 lakh crore in Samman Rashi has been given to farming households through this scheme.
During the programme, PM Modi will also distribute an equity award of over Rs 14 crore to 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit over 1.24 lakh farmers.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will speak to FPOs and address the public.
