The injunction was issued in response to an increase in cases of COVID-19's Omicron variant.

After Maharashtra and Delhi, Telangana is one of India's three worst Omicron-affected states.

On Wednesday, the state reported 14 more Omicron cases, bringing the total number of infections of the novel coronavirus strain to 38.

According to the state health department, 259 travellers were inspected on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, with four cases testing positive for RTPCR. Two of the four samples received for Genome Sequencing from travellers travelling from "At Risk" countries were positive for the Omicron variation.

The findings of the four samples are still being awaited.

A total of 12 samples from nations that were not considered "at risk" were found to be positive for the variation.
