He said that today, the world acknowledges that India possesses two boundless strengths, one is demography and the other is democracy.

The Prime Minister was speaking at the 16th Rozgar Mela after distributing over 51 thousand appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various government departments through video conferencing today.

Congratulating the new recruits, PM Modi said that with the government’s Rozgar Mela initiative, lakhs of youth have already secured permanent jobs in the Central government. He added that these young individuals are now playing a major role in nation-building.

PM Modi emphasized the growing ecosystem of startups, innovation, and research being developed in the country, stating that it is enhancing the capabilities of the nation’s youth.

Highlighting the government’s focus on creating new employment opportunities in the private sector, the Prime Minister noted that the government has recently approved a new scheme, the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme.

He added that for this initiative, the government has allocated approximately 1 lakh crore rupees, and this scheme will help in creating around 3.5 crore jobs.

He further emphasized that one of India’s greatest strengths is the manufacturing sector, stating that a large number of new jobs are being created in manufacturing.

He added that to boost the manufacturing sector, the Mission Manufacturing has been announced in this year’s budget. He mentioned that over 11 lakh jobs have been generated across the country through the PLI scheme alone.

PM Modi said that, today, 11 lakh crore rupees in electronic manufacturing is taking place in the country.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the country is setting new records in defence manufacturing, noting that India’s defence production has crossed 1.25 lakh crore rupees.

PM Modi also mentioned a recently released report from the International Labour Organization (ILO), stating that, over the past decade, more than 90 crore citizens across the country have been brought under the ambit of welfare schemes.

Underscoring that today, major global institutions like the World Bank are praising India, PM Modi said that India is being ranked among the top countries with the highest levels of equality in the world.    

The Rozgar Mela was held at 47 locations across the country today.

The new recruits will join the Central Government in various Ministries and Departments including Ministries of Railways, Home Affairs, Personnel and Public Grievances and Pensions, Labour and Employment, Departments of Revenue, Posts, Higher Education among others. More than ten lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.

In Punjab, Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Krishan Pal Gurjar distributed the appointment letters to 68 new appointees at an event organised at Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala.

He called upon the new appointees to work towards the dream of the Prime Minister to make the country a Viksit Bharat.

At Patiala, appointment letters were handed over to 216 new appointees at a function held in Locomotive Works Department Patiala.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the Prime Minister’s commitment to accord the highest priority to employment generation.  Over 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari handed over appointment letters to 149 candidates selected from departments such as Railways, Posts, Defence, and Health at Mangal Mandap in North Nagpur.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal distributed appointment letters to 173 candidates at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. The candidates were selected from departments including Railways, Posts, and Defence.

Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal said that initiatives like the Rozgar Mela have created valuable opportunities for young men and women to connect with the economy.

Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol also handed over appointment letters to candidates in Pune.

Addressing the 16th Rozgar Mela, Minister of State for Department of Personnel and Training, Jitendra Singh said that under the Mela, over forty thousands appointees are going to work in the Ministry of Railways .

He stated that every appointee will also receive access to Karmayogi Portal, which aims to enhance their skills through focused training and development programmes.

He also mentioned that more than eight lakh individuals have registered on the Karmayogi portal, thereby improving their efficiency and effectiveness in government operations.
